Sestroretskiy Lake and Lenin’s Hovel

Sestroretskiy Lake is a artificial lake created in the time of Peter I, by the dam the Black and the Sisters rivers. Lenin's Hovel memorial has been included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

In the summer of 1917 Vladimir Ilyich Lenin was hiding from the Provisional Government in a hovel on the Sestroretskiy Lake shore. Lenin’s Hovel memorial was designed by AI Gegello and openned in 1928.
