At the behest of Empress Anna Ioannovna in 1733 in Krasnoye Selo the built of a stone church began. The project was carried out by I. Ya. Blank, a disciple of M.G. Zemtsov.
The building of the church is 32 meters high, built in the early Baroque style, for a long time it was the architectural dominant of the Krasnoye Selo. In 1851-1854, according to the project of architect A.I. Rezanov, with the participation of A.M. Kamuzzi, the church was rebuilt and expanded.
Also in Krasnoye Selo there is another historical church of the XIX century – The Church of Alexander Nevsky.
