Palace “The Cottage” – is the summer residence of Nicholas I and his wife Alexandra Feodorovna. It is the dominant of the palace and park ensemble Alexandria, located in Peterhof.

The palace was built in 1826-1829 by A. A. Menelas in the Neo-Gothic style. In 1841, the palace building was slightly modified by the project of A. I. Stakenschneider. He was added a dining room with an open terrace on the east side.

The details of the cast iron decor are cast in St. Petersburg at the Alexandrovsky Foundry Plant, according to the models of talented Russian masters-masons S. Zakalupin and M. Sokolov.
